West side story in Lucerne

The team at esk film services have just delivered the Film Concerts Live project ‘West Side Story’ in Lucerne, Switzerland. Appearing at the KKL in the beautiful city, the City Lights Orchestra conducted by Anthony Gabrielli produced a stunning performance of Leonard Bernstein’s seminal score.

The show itself produced a challenge. The ageing film track had to be altered in pre-production to remove the music score, leaving only the dialogue intact. Synchronising this to the orchestra live along with the singing proved an artistic and technical challenge.

Esk engineers were on great form however and, combined with some fantastic playing from the City Lights Orchestra and conducting from Anthony Gabrielli, the show received standing ovations.

A busy summer awaits the team at esk with further performances planned including London, Paris and the KKL in Lucerne once more. Check out the KKL website for details of how to buy tickets for future Film with Orchestra concerts amongst the splendid scenery of the lake and mountains of Lucerne.
